The Area Supervisor at dd’s Discounts is a key member of the Store Leadership team, responsible for overseeing a specific store area, ensuring safe and secure operations, and supporting customer service and merchandising standards.
General Purpose:
The Area Supervisor manages a designated section of the store, supervises associates, and acts as Manager on Duty when required. They are responsible for opening and closing the store, maintaining a clean and well‑merchandised environment, and executing company operational processes
Key Responsibilities:
Store Operations & Supervision:
- Open and close the store; supervise associates during shifts.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation, recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and easy‑to‑shop environment; remove clutter and daily trash.
- Execute and supervise company operational processes as needed.
Safety & Security:
- Prioritize safety; identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Control building access (entrance/exit, receiving door, trash removal).
- Check daily function of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) devices.
- Ensure cash office security, armored carrier pickups, and register area safety.
- Test fire alarm systems on schedule; respond to after‑hours alarms.
- Maintain loss prevention awareness, including customer and associate engagement.
Customer Service:
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect; demonstrate courtesy and professionalism.
- Recognize associates through company programs.
Brand & Standards:
- Represent the company brand; maintain a professional appearance and ensure associates follow the dress code.
